January 2006 Travel Info From People for Care and Learning
Insight / Awareness Tour - January 2006
Greetings!
With just a few days between us and our journey to Southeast Asia we thought a little information and a few suggestions would be in order.

First, we are honored that you've chosen to travel with us. We have worked hard for months to ensure that your journey will be safe, comfortable, informative, and inspirational. Even so, flexibility is the rule of each and every day of the trip. Good planning can never take the place of those wonderful surprises of the Spirit and as you will see, the very culture of SE Asia lends itself to flexibility. Hopefully the information below will assist you as you prepare for our upcoming journey. We look forward to seeing you next Monday evening, January 23, at the Newark, NJ airport. Blessings, Fred

Airline Information
From Home to Newark, NJ   Passport, Luggage, Carry-On
Make sure to bring your Valid Passport and your "paper airline ticket". Look at your Passport and be sure it is not an old Passport. Visit K-Mart or Walgreens, etc and get several (2-4) Passport photos and place them inside your Passport. These will be used for securing Visas at several locations. Make two copies of your Passport. Leave one with family at home and give one to a traveling companion.

Checked Luggage: Each passenger is allowed two pieces of luggage that can be checked through to Bangkok. Be sure to tell the Airline Agent at your check-in counter to check your luggage through to your final destination of Bangkok, Thailand. While domestic flights allow a weight limit of 77 lbs. our Southeast Asia flight limits are 44 lbs. per piece. Make sure you place name tags on each piece of luggage and apply a piece of ORANGE cord and/or tape to the handle of each for easier recognition. Take clothes appropriate to Southern Florida weather. You will have access to washing your clothes for reuse. Take carry-on and one check-in bag for yourself-- Pack the other check-in bag with gifts for Cambodians (See Article Below).

Carry-on baggage is permitted in the aircraft cabin only if it is safely stowed under your seat or in the closed overhead bin. Every passenger is allowed one carry-on bag weighing 7 kg/15 lb. or less and no more than 23 cm x 36 cm x 56 cm in dimension or 115 cm/45 in. overall. Packing a change of clothes in the carry-on is recommended. Our intercontinental flight is long and you may want to freshen up.
